Australian Drafting & Design Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a Brisbane-based team delivering electrical design for major renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
The position will primarily focus on primary electrical design for Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated substation infrastructure.
This is a long-term contract opportunity offering an attractive hourly rate, flexibility and the prospect to work on significant renewable energy projects.
The Role
Working closely with the engineering and project teams, your responsibilities will include:
Primary electrical design for Solar PV and BESS projects
HV and LV electrical design
Substation and associated electrical infrastructure design
Preparation and development of single line diagrams
Equipment layouts and general arrangements
Cable routing and cable schedules
Earthing and lightning protection layouts
Preparation and review of electrical drawings and documentation
Design coordination with civil, structural and other engineering disciplines
Reviewing and incorporating engineering mark-ups
Supporting projects through detailed design and construction
Liaising with engineers and project stakeholders as required
About You
To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:
Robust experience in electrical design engineering
Experience with primary electrical design
Previous experience with Solar PV, BESS and/or substation projects
Strong AutoCAD skills
Valuable understanding of HV and LV electrical systems
Experience preparing electrical drawings and design documentationAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Australian project experience highly regarded
