Transport Manager

A quick look at the role

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of a 30+ vehicle fleet and 34 drivers to lead the day-to-day operations of our Traffic Office in Ipswich. You’ll play a key role in delivering protected, compliant, and productive transport operations while driving performance and customer service.

This is a hands-on leadership role with real responsibility and impact.

Your core responsibilities
Lead and motivate drivers, dispatchers, and operatives across multi-shift operations
Manage fleet compliance, vehicle safety, and operator licence requirements
Drive KPI performance across safety, service, and cost control
Ensure full compliance with transport, environmental, and H&S; legislation
Champion a strong safety culture, including near-miss reporting
Build solid relationships with internal teams and external customers

Our essential requirements
Proven experience in transport or logistics management
National CPC qualification
Strong knowledge of transport,



environmental, and H&S; compliance
Commercially minded with experience managing costs and performance
Confident leader and communicator
Positive local area knowledge and flexibility to travel when required
