Vatan Sydney is a restaurant located in Baulkham Hills, NSW, committed to delivering quality food and an enjoyable dining experience. With a focus on fresh ingredients, consistent preparation and high standards of service, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to the continued success of the restaurant.

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation (depending on experience and skills)

Role: Full time, 38 hours per week

Work Location: Baulkham Hills, NSW 2153

Key Responsibilities
Plan and develop menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal availability and operational requirements.
Prepare, cook and present dishes to established quality, portion and presentation standards.
Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation to ensure consistency.
Estimate food requirements, monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
Inspect ingredients and food supplies to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for use.
Monitor food preparation, storage and handling practices to maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
Regulate temperatures of ovens,



grills and other cooking equipment and coordinate food preparation during service.
Provide guidance and training to kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking, portioning and presentation standards.

Requirements
Diploma of Hospitality Management, relevant commercial cookery qualification, or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
Solid organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen workplace.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a kitchen team.
