With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Fyfe is expanding its Power & Connection capability and is seeking a SeniorPower Systems Engineer to assist with developing our grid connectionteam.
The senior power systems engineer is responsible for technical leadership of generator and grid connection projectsincluding power systems modelling studies and analysis for new solar farm, wind farm, BESS and hybrid generator connectionsthroughout Australia, using tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
The Opportunity
This is a senior position suited to an engineer with specialistexpertisein grid connection studies from concept through to execution.
You will be instrumental in delivering complex data centre, renewable energy and storageprojects, advancing technical standards, and supporting the continued growth of our sustainable energy portfolio.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a portfolio of major projects, including R0, R1, and R2 grid connectionsacross diverse generation technologies within Australia.
Oversee long-term planning, tracking,
and budgeting for key initiatives, ensuring projectsare delivered on time and within budget.
Drive results that significantly impact the company's strategic goals and objectives.
Accountable for the successful execution and budget management of several majorprojects.
Power system analysis for utility-scale networks including steady state and dynamic systemstudies.
Requirements
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering; Chartered, RPEQ, or RPEV status desirable
Minimum 10 years' experience in grid connection projects with strong knowledge of R0, R1, and R2 connection studies
Deep understanding of TNSP, DNSP, and AEMO requirements and proficiency in PSSE, PSCAD, DIgSILENT
Excellent communication and client-facing skills with a collaborative mindset
Thorough understanding of the generator connection process in Australia (Chapter 5 and5A) and the obligations of each party (NSPs, AEMO, Proponent etc).
