Working within our Creative Industries team, you'll play a key role in creating exceptional learning experiences while helping students achieve their educational and career goals.
This is a part-time (0.8 EFT), fixed term opportunity until 31 December ****.
Salary range aligns to the current MEA $84,618 - $128,887 per annum (dependent on qualifications & experience), plus 12% superannuation.Why work with us?

About the role
As a Teacher within our Faculty of Creative, Business & Technology, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment to students pursuing careers in hairdressing.
Based primarily at our Box Hill campus, you will create engaging learning experiences that combine industry expertise with practical application,
supporting students to build the confidence, skills and knowledge required for successful employment in the sector.
You will work closely with students, industry stakeholders and colleagues to ensure training remains current, engaging and aligned with industry needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled hairdresser who is passionate about sharing their expertise and supporting students to develop the practical and professional skills required to thrive in the industry.What you'll do:
Deliver engaging, practical and innovative hairdressing training to students
Develop and maintain high-quality learning resources, assessments and teaching materials.
Support students to achieve positive educational, employment and career outcomes
Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Engage with industry to maintain vocational currency and ensure training reflects current industry practices.
Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Participate in industry, marketing and community engagement activities that promote Box Hill Institute's programs.
Utilise learning technologies and blended learning approaches to enhance student engagement.
About You:
You are a passionate hairdressing professional with strong technical skills, a commitment to student success and the ability to create engaging learning experiences.Qualifications & Experience
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE*****)or a higher-level teaching qualification.
Relevant hairdressing qualifications, robust contemporary hairdressing skills and proven industry expertise.
Previous teaching, training, coaching or mentoring experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging training and assessment materials.
Experience using learning management systems and educational technology, including Moodle.
Experience with thePivot Pointhairdressing education program is highly regarded.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive and safe learning environment.

Have, or be willing to obtain, Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance.
