Backed by an established HSE management system, the team keeps safety at the heart of all we do - taking the time to understand operational realities and working closely with leaders to put practical, compliant controls in place that keep our people safe.
The role: HSE Advisor
Location: Spotswood, Melbourne
Work arrangement: In office
Support the implementation of the Corporate HSE Strategy and national operational HSE programs at site and regional level
Assist in ensuring operational compliance with HSE policies, standards, procedures, legislative obligations and the HSE Management System
Provide practical HSE advice, coaching and support to operational leaders, supervisors and workers to promote safe systems of work and positive safety behaviours
Participate in and, where delegated, lead incident and hazard investigations (including ICAM), ensuring quality root cause analysis and timely close-out of corrective actions
Support proactive identification, assessment and control of operational HSE risks, including participation in risk assessments, reviews and change management activities
Administer and support incident, hazard and injury reporting systems (e.g. Solv, Lucidity), including data quality, trend analysis and action tracking
Support injury management and return-to-work processes in collaboration with operations, claims providers and relevant stakeholders
Undertake other duties as directed by the HSE Lead or National HSE Operations Manager.
You are a perfect candidate if you possess:
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards
Practical, operationally focused approach to safety
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with operational teams
Good organisational, planning and time-management skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality documentation
Ability to work under direction while managing competing priorities
Strong alignment to Sadleirs values and commitment to an incident-free workplace
The willingness to work independently and under direction.
Skills, licences & experience required for the position.
Certificate IV in OHS and/or experience in a similar role
ICAM Facilitator trained well regarded
Current C Class Driver's License
Minimum 2-3 years' experience working as a HSE Advisor
Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site or operational environments
Practical experience in risk management, incident investigations and safety systems
Transport and logistics industry experience highly regarded
