Building on our reputation for academic excellence, and as part of our new and innovative Faculty design structure, an exciting opportunity is available for an outstanding educator to provide exceptional pedagogical and instructional leadership across the Humanities Faculty.
About the Role
The Dean of Faculty – Humanities is a key academic leader responsible for providing both strategic and operational leadership across the Humanities faculty.
The role is responsible for overall curriculum coherence, pedagogical quality and consistent assessment practices that align with the College's strategic priorities and Teaching and Learning Framework.
The Dean plays a critical role in driving improvement through effective use of data, evidence-based practice and strong qualified collaboration.
Leading and supporting the faculty team, the Dean of Faculty - Humanities helps build teaching and instructional capacity through coaching and feedback, fostering a culture of excellence and a strong emphasis on student learning outcomes and faculty operations.
Working closely with the Director of Teaching & Learning and other senior leaders, the Dean ensures that subject-level teaching and learning practices are aligned with faculty and whole-school priorities.

Subjects within the faculty include: Christian Education, Classics (including Latin), Geography, History, Philosophy and Politics

Demonstrated leadership experience at subject, curriculum or middle-leadership level
Proven impact on teaching quality and student learning outcomes
Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment and evidence-informed pedagogy
Understanding of diverse learning needs
Well-developed IT skills, with knowledge of the MS Office suite
Well-developed organisational and time management skills and the capacity to manage complex and competing issues
Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, trust and integrity
Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience
Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing
Current VIT / WWCC (Employee)
