FITTER (General) Location: Colac, VIC **** Tenure: Full-time, Permanent Comprehensive salary package from $79,423 pa (plus superannuation)
Position Summary: On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Fitter (General) who can assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure effective and safe operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, interpreting technical drawings, and carrying out repairs in accordance with workplace standards and safety requirements.
The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Skills and Experience:
Relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent
At least three (3)
years of recent and relevant work experience as a Fitter
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and organisational skills
Commitment to workplace safety
Duties and responsibilities:
Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery
Diagnose faults and perform repairs on mechanical systems
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards
