We are seeking applications for anEmploymentMentorfrom candidates who identify as being fromAboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent pursuant to the exemption under section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act **** (ADA) granted by Anti-Discrimination NSW to AMES Australia.
Annual salary is $70,561 + 12% super

About the position
We are seeking applications for anEmploymentMentorfrom candidates who identify as being fromAboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent pursuant to the exemption under section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act **** (ADA) granted by Anti-Discrimination NSW to AMES Australia.
If successful in your application as Employment Mentor, you willprovide individualised support, assistance and guidance toAboriginal or Torres Strait Islander job seekersaddressing/overcoming barriers to employment and ensuring that theygain suitable employment opportunities within an appropriate timeframe.
You will negotiate, monitor and review the delivery ofemployment support services for clients.
This involves the casemanagement of a caseload of job seekers, reverse marketingcandidates, job search training and supporting employers as theytake on candidates who identify as an Aboriginal or Torres StraitIslander person.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the localAboriginal community and knowledge of the Aboriginal concept ofsocial and emotional well-being,culture and wisdom
Some case management or client liaison experience,including work with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and the challenges they face
A current valid Driver's Licence will be required for this role
A current Working With Children Check (Employee)
A working knowledge and understanding of employment supportservices, specifically for Aboriginal or Torres StraitIslandercohort and the challenges they face
Demonstrated knowledge of current labour market trends
Demonstrated record of success in placement of job seekersinto employment or experience in a similar role
Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive job seekerassessment, identifying barriers to employment and preparingindividual career or job plans
Proven ability to motivate clients, and advocate and negotiate on their behalf
Highly developed communication and interpersonalskills
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills toimplement innovative job seeker focused solutions to gainemployment
Strong time management, organisational and well developedcomputer skills
Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability,teamwork and professionalism consistent with the AMES Visionand demonstrated commitment to the quality and continuousimprovement principles
Ability to speak a second language will be highlyregarded
