Fixed‐term, full‐time opportunity for up to 18 months based in Reservoir
Contribute to community safety by applying practices that reduce reoffending
Salary range of $100,894 – $114,476 plus superannuation
Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connecting individuals to programmes, services and community.
CCS provides management of individuals on court orders,
people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and those on parole.
About the role:
Senior Parole Officers (SPOs) are responsible for delivering quality case management to a complex caseload of the highest priority individuals on parole – those who have committed responsible sex offences or serious violent offences – under correctional supervision.
SPOs will be required to work autonomously and ensure that the management of individuals on parole under their supervision are case managed in line with Victoria's Correctional Practice Framework.
Key Responsibilities include:
Effectively manage a complex caseload of the highest individuals who are subject to a Parole Order
Apply sound professional judgement in the ongoing identification and assessment of individual risk, with a paramount consideration for community safety
Interview, assess, refer and direct prisoners on parole to attend various programmes, which may include specialised services, assessment and treatment programmes
Prepare and co‐ordinate high quality reports to external and internal stakeholders including complex correspondence and briefings
Undertake the installation of and maintenance of electronic monitoring equipment as well as conducting home visits
About you:
Knowledge of best practice case management frameworks and theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomes
Displays confidence and conviction when communicating an opinion and listens when ideas are challenged
Accept changes in priorities without undue discomfort
Holds self and team accountable towards being inclusive to individuals from diverse backgrounds
Resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines
Sees things from another's point of view to confirm understanding, motivations, needs and wants of stakeholders

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre‐employment checks which may include reference checks, nationally coordinated criminal history checks (NCCHC), and misconduct screening.
Depending on the role, other checks may include VicRoads checks, drivers licence checks, medical checks, Working with Children Checks, and Declaration of Private Interests (for executive and responsible officer roles).
