Based in South West Sydney our Psychologists are responsible for providing high quality psychological assessment, counselling, intervention and vocational support services that enhance participant wellbeing, remove barriers to employment and training, and support positive life outcomes. The Psychologist works collaboratively with OCTEC employment service teams to deliver evidence-based psychological services to participants experiencing mental health concerns, psychosocial challenges, vocational barriers, personal development issues and other factors impacting participation in employment, education or training. OCTEC is expanding its Allied Health Team and this role has the opportunity to grow and assist in formulating our successful model.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychological and mental health assessments for participants
Develop and implement individually tailored intervention plans to address identified barriers to employment, training and community participation
Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and other appropriate therapeutic approaches
Provide individual counselling services through face-to-face, telephone and video conferencing platforms
Monitor participant progress and adjust intervention strategies as required
Maintain accurate case notes, reports, assessments and participant records in accordance with skilled standards and organisational requirements
Provide vocational guidance,



career development support and workplace adjustment recommendations where appropriate
Assist participants to identify goals and develop practical strategies to improve employability and personal wellbeing
Participate in case conferences with OCTEC staff and external stakeholders to support participant outcomes
Provide advocacy, referrals and coordinated access to specialist services and community supports
About you
Current General Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology
Demonstrated experience delivering psychological assessment, counselling and intervention services
Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health, psychosocial, vocational and personal development challenges
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of participants, including young people, people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other disadvantaged cohorts
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and case note documentation
Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise tasks and meet service delivery deadlines
Demonstrated employability skills, including initiative, communication, teamwork, use of technology, problem solving, self-management, planning and learning
Current Drivers Licence
Current National Police Check and Working With Children Check
