Cleaning Supervisor – Canberra

Our Canberra club is looking for a reliable, experienced and hands‐onCleaning Supervisorto take ownership of the club's cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards.
This position suits someone who takes genuine pride in their work, notices the details others miss and is comfortable working independently.
You'll also supervise and work alongside a cleaner on selected days, depending on the club's operational requirements.
The role
This is a hands‐on position where you'll be directly responsible for ensuring the club is spotless and ready for members each day.
The role includes:
Working on site five days per week
Completing approximately six hours per day
Independently managing the club's day‐to‐day cleaning requirements
Completing daily and deep‐cleaning tasks
Maintaining exceptional cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards
Conducting quality checks and addressing issues before members notice them
Following established cleaning procedures, checklists and safety requirements
Managing cleaning supplies and monitoring stock levels
Training, supporting and providing direction to cleaning staff
Preparing regular cleaning reports, maintenance reports and internal memos for management
Reporting maintenance concerns, damage and operational issues promptly
Supporting leave coverage and changes to the cleaning schedule when required
Working hours
This is not a traditional nine‐to‐five position.
As our clubs operate throughout the day, the majority of cleaning work will take place during evenings or overnight, including after the club has closed to members.
You'll often have the club to yourself,



allowing you to work efficiently and maintain exceptional standards without interrupting the member experience.
Some daytime availability may occasionally be required for:
Training team members
Conducting inspections
Attending team meetings
Supporting operational projects
Coordinating with club management and contractors

Cleaning tasks are completed consistently and to a premium standard
Issues are identified, reported and followed up promptly
Cleaning supplies are well managed
The cleaning team is supported, accountable and clear on expectations
Reports and updates are accurate and submitted on time
You take ownership and solve problems without needing constant supervision
About you
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous professional cleaning experience
Takes enormous pride in their work
Has exceptional attention to detail
Is confident working independently
Communicates clearly and professionally
Can prepare straightforward reports, maintenance updates and memos
Has strong time‐management and problem‐solving skills
Is comfortable working evenings and overnight

Experience in health clubs, wellness facilities, hotels, commercial cleaning or other premium environments would be an advantage.
