We're looking for an experienced SMSF Accountant who understands (or genuinely wants to master) cryptocurrency.
The role
You'll manage a portfolio of SMSF clients holding digital assets alongside traditional investments.
Day to day, you will:
Prepare SMSF financial statements, member statements and annual returns end-to-end
Reconcile crypto holdings across exchanges, hardware wallets and DeFi platforms, including staking rewards and airdrops
Prepare 30 June market valuations for digital assets and supporting documentation
Prepare audit workpapers and liaise with independent SMSF auditors, including wallet ownership verification procedures
Monitor contribution caps, pension minimums, TBAR lodgements and ECPI calculations
Identify compliance issues specific to crypto in super — sole purpose test, related party acquisitions,
asset separation and storage requirements
Communicate directly with trustees and their advisers in plain English
About you
Minimum 3 years' SMSF accounting experience in public practice
Degree qualified; CA or CPA completed or in progress
Proficient in BGL Simple Fund 360
Working knowledge of cryptocurrency — how exchanges, wallets, staking and DeFi work.
Strong grounding in SIS Act and SIS Regulations compliance fundamentals
Is honest and trustworthy, accountable, takes pride in their work, organised and very keen to develop and learn
Makes suggestions and brings ideas to the table
Excellent written communication — our clients expect transparent explanations of complex issues
