About the Clinic
Warkworth Vets is a well‐established eight‐vet mixed practice serving the wider Warkworth and Wellsford regions. We operate from a modern, purpose‐built hospital, backed by our Wellsford branch.
As a genuinely mixed clinic, we see a broad spectrum of cases — primarily small animals, supported by a diverse mix of lifestyle block & production clients. We're known for our excellent standards of care & keeping the majority of our cases in‐house, including advanced medical and surgical cases, giving our veterinarians unparalleled clinical exposure and development opportunities.
You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative, and highly experienced team of Vets & Nurses who genuinely enjoy working together and love what they do.
The Role
One of our wonderful vets is relocating, creating a rare prospect for a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join our team.
Predominantly small animal, with a balance of lifestyle & production
Rostered Monday to Friday
1:5 Saturday & weekend on-call rotation
1x weekday on‐call roster (5pm until 10pm and 6am-8am).
Overnight support through ARC




Great work/life balance - with the next Friday off following your weekend shift for a 3 day weekend.
The majority of cases stay in‐house, supported by visiting specialists where needed, giving you real continuity and hands‐on experience

What We're Looking For
We'd love an experienced Mixed Animal Vet with 1+ years' experience, but we welcome applications from vets at any career stage — the right team fit matters most.
You'll also bring:
BVSc or equivalent, recognised by the New Zealand Veterinary Council
Confidence with routine surgeries and consultations
A warm, collaborative approach and a desire to grow your skills within a mixed caseload
