About Us
Winsonton Bakeshop and Resto is a busy bakery-restaurant based in Logan Central, QLD, serving a loyal local customer base with a menu of freshly baked goods and hearty, quality meals. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Chef to oversee food preparation, menu execution, and kitchen operations at our Logan Central premises. This is a full-time position offering long-term career opportunity with a growing local business.
Key Duties
Planning, preparing, and cooking food items in accordance with recipes, portion, and quality control standards
Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation schedules and stock control
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
Supervising and coordinating the work of kitchen staff, including apprentices and kitchen hands




Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and liaising with suppliers
Developing and costing menu items, including seasonal and special menus
Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
Managing kitchen budgets and minimising food wastage
Skills and Experience Required
Trade qualification in commercial cookery (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery) or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (Food Safety Supervisor certification highly regarded)
Robust organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong leadership and communication skills to supervise kitchen staff
Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays as required
A salary of $79,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus superannuation), commensurate to experience, will be offered to the successful applicant.
