Resin8® is a net zero carbon aggregate made from recycled soft plastics. It substitutes traditional aggregate so concrete producers and builders can cut embodied carbon and divert plastic waste from landfill. Developed by Sustainable Concrete Group, Resin8 sits at the centre of a genuine circular economy: waste plastic in, low carbon construction material out.
We're looking for a Melbourne based Business Development Manager to grow both sides of that equation.
About the role
This is a rare two sided BD role. You'll own commercial relationships across the full Resin8 value chain.
Feedstock (supply side). Sell to and sign up waste producers. You'll identify, pitch and contract businesses with soft plastic waste streams, and manage those feedstock relationships as ongoing supply partnerships.
Offtake (demand side). Sell Resin8 into concrete companies and construction projects. You'll build a pipeline of ready mix and precast producers, builders, developers and specifiers, and convert sustainability ambitions into signed offtake agreements.
Day to day you will:
Prospect, pitch and close waste producers as feedstock suppliers, and manage those accounts over the long term
Win offtake customers across ready mix, precast, civil and commercial construction
Work with specifiers, engineers, sustainability managers and procurement teams to get Resin8 written into project specifications
Present the commercial and environmental case for Resin8, including carbon reduction, landfill diversion,
circular economy outcomes and green building credentials
Manage full sales cycles on both sides, from first call through trials, pricing and contract
Represent Resin8 at industry events and site meetings
Feed market intelligence back into product and go to market strategy
About you
You don't need to have done both sides before, but you need to have done one of them well and show us you can learn the other.
Proven BD or sales experience on at least one side of the equation: waste and resource recovery (signing up waste producers, commodity or feedstock supply) or construction materials (selling into concrete producers, builders or construction projects)
A pre identified network. You already know who to call, or you've built that list before and can do it again
Demonstrated ability to pick up a recent industry fast and sell a technical product on value
Comfortable managing long term commercial relationships, not just closing one off deals
A genuine interest in sustainability and the circular economy
A self starter who can build a territory from the ground up
Current driver's licence. Melbourne based with willingness to travel to sites and customers
Sell a product that measurably reduces carbon and plastic waste. Work you can stand behind
Ground floor opportunity in a growing business with a genuinely differentiated product
Competitive salary package with performance incentives
Autonomy, flexibility and direct access to leadership
