Job Description
Thiess is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team.
In this role, you will report to the Finance & Administration Manager where you will provide professional advice and support to the project regarding its financial accountability and controls whilst ensuring financial performance targets are achieved.
Working a 8/6 roster your duties will include:
Ensure timely completion of EOM deliverables and reports
Facilitate monthly cost reviews including analysis of key variances to budget
The key contributor to cost build ups for the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
Drive financial awareness across the site and ensure financial practices are in line with company policy
Ensure financial risks are identified at an early stage
Communicating effectively with internal and external key personnel and stakeholders

The Eva Copper Mine Project is located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People in North West Queensland, approximately 75 km north-west of Cloncurry and about 95 km north-east of Mount Isa.
The Project is an iron-oxide copper-gold resource featuring multiple open pits and is poised to become the largest greenfield copper mine in Queensland.

About the Candidate
CPA or CA qualified (or in progress)
Relevant years of post-qualification experience - mining or heavy industry experience would be highly regarded
Previous JDE experience highly regarded
Proficient in MS Office, strong emphasis on Excel
Excellent time management and organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task as required
Drive safety, culture, and productivity in a team environment
Robust interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence across the site
