About the role:
Aurizon's Engineering & Control Systems team is currently seeking a Student Engineer on a casual basis.
This hands‐on role is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering student to gain real‐world experience in a large‐scale rail operation.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll contribute to projects that supports Aurizon's Train Control, Traction Power SCADA and Asset Protection systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Support the Operational Systems Engineering team in the design, development, testing, and commissioning of mission‐critical software and industrial SCADA systems
Assisting in the development and maintenance of documentation, procedures, and reports
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for business improvement, technology development and innovation to support and enhance the enterprise's business
Providing general engineering and administrative support as needed
About you:
We're looking for a motivated and curious individual who is
currently
completing a tertiary degree in
Software, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
and has:
Interest in software and systems engineering
Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
Effective written and verbal communication skills




The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
A passion for learning and contributing to real‐world engineering projects
