Ward 5B is a 32-bed surgical ward at Launceston General Hospital caring for orthopaedic, plastic and reconstructive, gynaecological, general, breast, and ENT patients.
The team delivers patient-centred care through a multidisciplinary approach, prioritising communication, teamwork, and safe discharge planning.

The Team
Ward 5B is a 32-bed surgical ward, within the Launceston General Hospital.
We care for a range of surgical patients undergoing Orthopaedic, Plastic & Reconstructive, Gynaecological, General, Breast, and Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery.
The staff on 5B believe in a multidisciplinary team approach to health care that places the needs of our patients and their families/carers first through communication and collaboration to facilitate a safe discharge from hospital.
We provide a supportive environment for learners and place a heavy focus on teamwork to assist in facilitating the needs of our busy surgical ward.
All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role
Registered Nurse role that strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals within a fast-paced surgical ward

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 26 October ****.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement ****.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
