Medical Assistant – Skin Cancer Procedures & Clinical Support (Cert III/IV)
TopDoctors Medical, Skin & Specialist Centre — Bribie Island, QLD
Full-time or Part-time | Bellara (two sites, 300m apart)
Be part of something growing rapid.
TopDoctors is one of the fastest-growing medical centres in the Moreton Bay region — two purpose-built clinics on beautiful Bribie Island, a rapidly expanding patient community, a dedicated skin cancer service led by experienced skin cancer doctors, and a visiting specialist roster spanning cardiology, geriatrics, orthopaedics, gastroenterology and urology. We're now launching ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injection services and expanding our procedural work — and we need a certified Medical Assistant to work at the heart of it.
This is not a reception role. You'll be hands-on in our treatment rooms, working directly alongside our doctors.
What you'll do (under direct GP supervision):
Set up and assist during skin cancer procedures — biopsies, excisions and minor surgery: sterile field preparation, instrument trays, intra-procedure assisting, specimen labelling and pathology handling
Perform ECGs and assist with other clinical measurements and health assessments
Prepare treatment rooms,
manage the steriliser/autoclave cycle and instrument reprocessing to infection-control standards
Support wound care and dressing clinics as delegated by the treating doctor
Act as chaperone and patient support during procedures
Manage clinical stock, consumables and cold chain
Assist with recalls, results workflow and procedural bookings in Best Practice
What you'll bring:
Certificate III or IV in Health Services Assistance / Medical Assistance (or final stage of completion) — essential
Confidence assisting in minor procedures, or genuine eagerness to be trained to a high standard by our procedural doctors
ECG competency
A warm, calm manner with patients, especially the anxious ones
Current CPR
Why TopDoctors:
You'll learn more here in twelve months than most assistants learn in five years — real procedural exposure, structured training, modern equipment, and doctors who teach. Island lifestyle, no city commute, free parking, and a team that genuinely backs each other. Remuneration is competitive and based on qualifications and experience, with room to grow as the practice grows.
