The Opportunity
Bring your financial expertise to a strategic business partnering role where you'll support operational areas through budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis.
Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you'll provide trusted advice and insights that strengthen financial performance and support informed decision-making. From budget development to financial modelling and reporting, you'll help stakeholders understand business performance, trends and risks, in a collaborative, value-adding finance position.

$109,838 Base annual salary
$124,675 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a full-time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You
You are a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders to achieve business outcomes. Drawing on your experience in budgeting, management accounting and financial analysis, you provide trusted advice, identify opportunities for improvement and help leaders make informed decisions. Your strong analytical skills, collaborative approach and ability to communicate complex financial information enable you to add value across a diverse organisation.
Key Responsibilities




Partner with operational business areas to deliver financial advice, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting that supports informed decision-making.
Develop and maintain financial models, reports and analysis to identify trends, manage risks and improve business performance.
Support the preparation and review of annual budgets, business cases and project financials, ensuring accuracy, compliance and value for money.
Build strong stakeholder relationships by providing trusted financial guidance, training and support across a diverse range of Council services.
Essential Skills and Experience
High level experience in developing budgets, forecasts and financial performance reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards and legislative requirements.
Advanced financial modelling skills, including the development of business cases, cost recovery models, allocation methodologies and activity-based costing tools.
Strong capability in analysing and interpreting large financial datasets, with advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP-generated data.
Demonstrated proficiency in ERP finance systems and integrated business applications, including project, asset, payroll, procurement and reporting modules.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, assess financial performance and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to support operational decision‐making.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills, with the ability to influence outcomes, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes.
Qualifications, Training and Licences
Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
CPA or CA qualification, or currently working towards completion
Current Queensland 'C' Class Driver Licence
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining contemporary financial knowledge.
