The Role
We'relooking for an experienced and solutions-focused
OSI Scientist
to joinour
Operational Support and Improvement team
on a
permanent full time basis.
Reporting tothe Manager Operational Improvement, this role plays a key part in improvingthe performance, reliability and compliance of TasWater's water and wastewatersystems.
You'll apply your scientific and technical expertise to optimisetreatment processes, investigate operational challenges, improve complianceoutcomes, and deliver innovative solutions that support safe, sustainable andreliable service delivery across Tasmania.
Thisis an exciting opportunity for a technically capable professional who enjoyssolving complex problems, analysing system performance, and workingcollaboratively with operational teams to drive continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
Providetechnical leadership and expert scientific advice to improve theperformance, reliability and compliance of water and wastewater networksand systems.
Analyse treatment and network performanceto identify opportunities for system optimisation and operationalimprovement.
Leadinvestigations, trials and the implementation of innovative solutions to improve outcomes and reduce operational risk.
Collaborate with operationsteams, project teams and technical specialists to deliver practical, evidence-based solutions.
Develop technical reports, recommendationsand business cases to support informed decision-making and continuousimprovement.
Coach, mentor and share technical expertise to buildcapability across operational teams and emerging professionals.
What we're looking for
We're seeking a collaborative and analyticalprofessional with a passion for process improvement, operational excellence anddelivering positive environmental and community outcomes.
To thrive in this role
Experienceanalysing and improving operational, treatment or process systems to enhance performance, reliability and compliance outcomes.
Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data andtranslate insights into practical, evidence-based solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communicationskills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, actively listen,build trusted relationships and share technical knowledge with others.
A curious andproactive mindset, with experience contributing to scientificinvestigations, trials.
A degree in science (relevant to this team/discipline) or equivalent relevant competency.

The Details
This role can be based either at
Hobart, Devonport or Launceston
and attracts a salary range of
$113,******- $120,****** per annum (inclusive of superannuation).
The role will involve travel across Tasmania to support operationalsites and may require participation in after-hours work or an on-call roster as business requirements dictate.
