Senior Accountant - Business Advisory

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Business Advisory division.
This role offers the prospect to work with a diverse client portfolio, provide high-level tax and business advisory services, and mentor junior team members while developing your own professional expertise.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services to a broad range of clients.
Working closely with Managers and Directors, you will manage client relationships, provide technical expertise, and contribute to the ongoing success of the team.
Key Responsibilities - Accounting & Taxation
Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and special purpose reports for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
Prepare and review BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.
Conduct technical tax research and provide solutions for complex tax matters.
Assist with payroll tax, ATO, and superannuation audits and reviews.
Prepare and review journals, reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
Review financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting and taxation requirements.
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
Manage a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries.
Participate in client meetings and provide practical business and tax advice.
Respond to client queries relating to accounting software, taxation matters, and business operations.
Work collaboratively with Managers and Directors on complex advisory matters including CGT and small business concessions.
Identify opportunities to enhance the client experience and add value to client relationships.
Team & Practice Development
Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to junior team members.
Assist with workflow management and effective delegation of work.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and best practice procedures.
Participate in ongoing professional development and technical training.
Assist with WIP management, fee preparation, and achieving productivity targets.
About You - To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential Requirements
Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
CA or CPA qualification completed.
Proven experience in an Australian Business Services and Tax Advisory environment.
Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, APS, or similar platforms.
