About our client
Our client is a Western Australian leisure and entertainment business operating within a seasonal environment and supporting both a permanent and seasonal workforce.
The operation incorporates entertainment, hospitality, retail, food and beverage, engineering and maintenance, inventory management, capital planning, project management and workforce management.
The finance team works collaboratively across accounting, payroll, accounts payable, reporting and finance administration, providing an accounting skilled with broad financial and commercial exposure.
About the opportunity
You'll work across different areas of finance depending on business requirements.
In this role, you will:
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
Process journals and complete balance sheet reconciliations
Support monthly management accounts and reporting
Assist with statutory reporting requirements
Contribute to financial analysis and business performance reporting
Support payroll processing and related reconciliations
Assist with accounts payable and revenue assurance activities
Maintain finance spreadsheets and reporting tools
Work with stakeholders across different areas of the business
About you
We're looking for someone who wants to continue developing their accounting career and gain experience across a range of finance responsibilities.
You may currently be an Assistant Accountant or working in another finance position where greater responsibility for month‐end, reporting, reconciliations and analysis would be a natural progression.
Excel is also an important part of the position.
You'll need intermediate competency, including formulas and pivot tables, and the ability to create, maintain and check spreadsheets accurately.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
Experience supporting month‐end accounting processes
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
Attention to detail and organisational capability
The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Progress towards CPA, CA or an equivalent professional qualification will be regarded favourably.
Experience within a consumer-facing or multi-site organisation would also be useful.
Power BI reporting experience is desirable.
