Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel is now open, and we are seeking an organised, commercially minded, and detail oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee all purchasing, receiving, and inventory management across the property.
This hotel will transform how visitors experience Mooloolaba. Positioned just 100 metres from its pristine beach, the hotel sits where surf breaks meet the buzzing esplanade. The design will seamlessly blend contemporary with coastal, the perfect backdrop for a beach escape with a side of adventure.
This is a critical role within the hotel, responsible for ensuring all departments have the products and supplies they need to operate efficiently while maintaining strong cost controls, stock security, and supplier relationships.
Working closely with operational leaders across Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, and Maintenance, you will play a key role in streamlining purchasing processes, improving inventory management practices, and implementing controls that support the ongoing growth and success of the business.
As a newly opened hotel, this is an exciting opportunity to establish best practices, refine systems, and make a lasting impact on the operation.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or hotel stores operations
Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Experience implementing stock control processes and inventory management systems
Commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs and supplier relationships
Strong administration and reporting capabilities
Ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments
Proactive and solutions focused approach to operational challenges
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
Experience within hotels, hospitality, food and beverage, or large scale high volume operations
Full Australian Working rights
Key Responsibilites
Manage all purchasing and receiving activities across the hotel
Source, order, and maintain stock levels for all operational departments
Establish and streamline purchasing processes to improve efficiency and control
Implement and maintain inventory management systems and stock controls
Ensure stock security procedures are in place and consistently followed
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing where appropriate
Monitor stock movement, ordering patterns, and inventory variances
Conduct regular stocktakes and investigate discrepancies
Ensure goods are received accurately and in accordance with company procedures
Work closely with department leaders on forecasting and inventory requirements
Support cost management initiatives and identify purchasing efficiencies
Maintain accurate purchasing, receiving, and inventory records
