We are currently partnering with a leading construction business to recruit an
Accountant
to join their Sydney-based finance team.
This is a great opportunity for an Accountant looking to take the next step in their career, working closely with the Finance Manager and gaining exposure across month-end, reconciliations, reporting and broader financial operations.
The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of financial information.
Key responsibilities will include:
Completing daily bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations
Reconciling overhead and balance sheet accounts and providing commentary on key movements and variances
Working closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate invoice coding and allocation
Preparing monthly BAS workpapers
Assisting with monthly management reporting and financial forecasting
Managing and reconciling retention trust accounts




Assisting with bank guarantee and bond administration
Preparing ad hoc financial reports, reconciliations and analysis
Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting
About You
We are looking for someone with:
3+ years' experience
in an Accountant or similar role
Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting systems
Excellent attention to detail and solid reconciliation skills
A proactive approach with the ability to work collaboratively across a finance team
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
A genuine interest in developing your accounting career
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration;
CPA qualification will also be considered
