Seeking a commercial, highly driven, and creative
Food Technologist
specializing in
bakery applications
. In this role, you will lead innovation, recipe formulation, and product development within our specialized ingredient portfolio.
You will bridge the gap between technical science and commercial success. Your focus will be moving novel ingredients (including
fibers, proteins, starches, hydrocolloids, and texturants
) from initial concept through to full commercialization. You will collaborate closely with internal sales teams and provide high-level technical support to our domestic and export customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Technical Innovation
Formulate Recipes
: Develop new recipes/processes and modify existing ones to optimize product lines.
Market Research
: Analyze current consumer trends and emerging technologies to generate fresh product concepts.
Source Raw Materials
: Research and source innovative raw materials from preferred suppliers.
Trial & Test
: Run trials for new formulations and manage the
test baking/approval
of monthly blended products for commercial sale.
Process Design
: Design scalable manufacturing processes ensuring consistent flavor, color, and texture in large production quantities.
Commercial Support & Customer Relationship Management
Sales Collaboration
: Support sales staff with new product offerings tailored to specific customer specifications.
Technical Support
:



Educate and train customers on ingredient applications to maximize value and business growth.
Account Strategy
: Develop and execute technical strategies for assigned domestic and export customers to meet commercial targets.
System Integration
: Maintain active use of
CRM and Business Intelligence (BI)
tools to track customer leads, pipeline growth, and project opportunities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience
: Minimum of
5 years of industry experience
in a technical or commercial food industry role.
Technical Background
: Proven professional experience in
Baking, Bakery Science
, or a highly related culinary science discipline.
Ingredient Knowledge
: Solid fundamental understanding of
food fibers, proteins, starches, hydrocolloids, and texturants
.
Software Proficiency
: Prior working knowledge or familiarity with
Foodworks 10 database
management is highly preferred.
Commercial Drive
: Solid ability to blend scientific acumen with commercial thinking to drive financial outcomes and fill the sales pipeline.
Interpersonal Skills
: Exceptional communication skills, confident in interacting at all operational levels from R&D; to senior executive management.
