: $92,286 - $99,294 based on level of experience, plus super

About the role
As a Better Futures Youth Worker, you will walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people as they transition from care to adulthood. Through a culturally strong and strengths-based approach, you will support young people to stay connected to culture, community and identity while helping them achieve their goals in education, employment, health and wellbeing, housing, life skills and social connections. Your work will empower young people to build confidence, independence and a strong future grounded in culture and belonging.
About You
You are passionate about empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to have a strong voice in shaping their future and achieving their goals. You build genuine relationships with young people, families and support networks, helping strengthen connections to culture, community and identity. Through mentoring, advocacy and practical support, you guide young people to build confidence, independence and the skills they need to thrive. You are a collaborative team member who values accountability, maintains high-quality records, and is committed to delivering culturally safe services that create positive and lasting outcomes for young people.
Diploma in Community Services




Experience in working with Youth who have lived in Outer Home Care.Demonstrated understanding working with a trauma-informed approach in strength-based model
An understanding of the available resources and services in Inner and Outer Eastern Metro areasAn understanding of the Better Futures Advantage Thinking Model, Home Stretch and flexible support packages.
Requirements:
Certificate IV in Community Services and/or Youth WorkWhere a degree is commenced but not completed, salary will be fixed at Award Level 4 until successful completion
Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and aVictorian Driver Licence.
Current COVID-19 vaccination(Strongly Recommended)
