Speech Pathologist - Paediatric Early Intervention
Be Recruitment is partnering with SDN Children's Services to recruit an experienced Speech Pathologist for its Children's Therapies team in Rooty Hill.
This permanent part-time role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful, family-centred speech pathology services within an established and supportive multidisciplinary team.
Working with children aged 0–16 years who experience developmental delay or disability, you will support each child's communication, development, participation and inclusion.
The opportunity
You will provide evidence-based assessment and intervention while working collaboratively with children, families and other practitioners to develop meaningful goals.
Approximately 65% of the role involves direct work with children and families. The remaining time is allocated to assessment, planning, reporting, clinical documentation and team collaboration.
The role is primarily based onsite in Rooty Hill, with minimal travel. Some flexibility may be available in the future to complete clinical documentation and case notes remotely.
Key responsibilities
Deliver evidence-based speech pathology services to children aged 0–16 years
Assess and support speech, language and functional communication needs
Provide strengths-based, family-centred and play-based intervention
Work collaboratively with children and families to establish meaningful goals
Develop and implement assessment, intervention and progress plans
Support children's communication and participation at home, in education and within the community
Provide families and other relevant people with practical communication strategies
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Prepare clear, accurate and timely clinical documentation and reports
Participate in clinical supervision, team discussions and service development
Contribute to positive early-intervention outcomes for children and families
About you
You will be a qualified Speech Pathologist with experience supporting children and families in early intervention, disability, community health or another paediatric setting.
You will bring:
A recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia
Approximately 2.5–3 years of relevant experience
Experience working with children with developmental delay or disability
An understanding of family-centred and strengths-based practice
The ability to assess and support speech, language and functional communication needs
Strong engagement and relationship-building skills
The ability to work independently and contribute to a small multidisciplinary team
Solid clinical documentation and report-writing skills
An understanding of the NDIS environment
A current Working with Children Check
A current Australian driver's licence, with access to a vehicle preferred
Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status with Speech Pathology Australia will be highly regarded.
The working arrangement
This is a permanent part-time position working three days per week. The preferred days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday,
although some flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
