Job Description
Our client, R KAUR & G SINGH, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Production Horticulturist to support the planning and execution of berry crop production activities. This role focuses on optimising plant growth, monitoring crop health, implementing integrated pest and disease management strategies, and assisting with harvesting and post-harvest processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in horticultural, practical on-farm experience, and a strong understanding of crop production systems, including soil pH, irrigation, and plant nutrition.

Responsibility Oversee and optimise berry crop production by managing plant health, irrigation, soil conditions, and farm operations to ensure high-quality yield and compliance with industry standards. Duties:
Ensure all land and soil preparation activities meet berry cultivation requirements, including soil acidity and drainage
Train and monitor farm workers to ensure tasks are performed according to standard operating procedures
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work programs to support efficient farm operations
Assess quality of work and implement corrective actions where required
Ensure availability and proper use of inputs such as fertilisers, mulch, and plant stock
Oversee maintenance and safe operation of tractors, implements, and farm equipment
Liaise with the Farm Manager, Agronomist, and Maintenance Manager as required
Operate tractors and specialised equipment used in berry production
Identify and report signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies in berry crops
Operate and monitor pressurised irrigation systems
Prepare and apply chemicals for pest, weed, and disease control in line with safety and compliance standards
Coordinate berry harvesting to ensure quality and efficiency
Assist with soil treatment and fumigation where required
Manage and maintain drainage systems to support optimal plant growth
Monitor and manage nursery plants and propagation activities
Operate spreading, planting, and mulching equipment relevant to berry farming
Qualification:
AQF Certificate IV or
Higher
2-3 years of experience in related field.
Salary:
$70,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation
Full Time:
38 hours per week
