We're seeking an experienced Network Support Engineer to support and maintain a Cisco-based network environment.
This is a hands‐on BAU role where you'll be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining network services while providing Level 2 and Level 3 support across the business.
September start – Initial 4 month contract + 2 month extension
South Eastern suburbs
Hybrid work environment – 3 days per week in office
Working within the network team, you'll help ensure network availability, performance and security, whilst resolving incidents, implementing changes and supporting ongoing operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L2/L3 support for network incidents, problems and service requests
Troubleshoot and resolve routing, switching and connectivity issues
Perform network maintenance, upgrades and configuration changes
Monitor network performance and proactively identify issues
Support Cisco networking, wireless and security technologies
Assist with change, incident and problem management activities
Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues
Maintain network documentation and operational procedures
Ensure a stable, secure and reliable network environment
Key Requirements
You are a practical,
hands‐on network support engineer who enjoys troubleshooting and resolving issues.
You have strong Cisco networking experience and are comfortable working across operational support, incident management and BAU activities.
You can quickly identify root causes, communicate effectively with stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing stability of the network environment.
5+ years' experience in network support roles
Strong hands‐on experience supporting Cisco networking environments
Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts
Experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies
Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS
Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
Experience supporting LAN, WAN and wireless networks
Experience with Cisco security technologies including ASA, FTD and ISE
Knowledge of VPN technologies including IPSec, SSL VPN and GRE tunnels
Experience using monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk or Cisco DNAC
Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced support environment
