They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in the Sydney area on a permanent basis.The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:Experience in the Fire Protection industry, with knowledge of protection, suppression or detection systemsAt least 2 years of experience in a similar Design Engineering, R&D;, Product Design or Mechanical Engineering positionDegree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Design Engineering or similarHighly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc.Previous experience working with a variety of materials including sheet metal,



machined parts and injection molded plasticsGood theoretical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesExperienced designing products from concept to productionAble to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgetsAble to maintain technical documentation and BOM entryAble to work well individually as well as part of a teamThe Design Engineer role will involve:Designing a range of current products in the Fire Protection industryUsing CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsManaging the full product lifecycle from concept to productionCollaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projectsLiasing with manufacturing providersBeing involved in final assemblyCreating required documentation for design and project reportsUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offWorking in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projectsIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
