About the Role DVR Engineering is seeking qualified and experienced CNC Machinists (First Class) to join our manufacturing team.
This is a full-time position where the successful applicant will program, set up and operate a range of CNC machines to produce high-precision components, ensuring all parts are manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and required tolerances.
Machinists may work across a variety of projects involving different materials, component sizes and levels of complexity in a production workshop environment as part of our manufacturing team.
The position requires robust CNC programming and machining skills, attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce high-quality precision components within required production timeframes.
Key Responsibilities Program, set up and operate CNC milling machines and/or CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, tolerances and machining requirements.
Set work offsets, tool offsets, cutting tools, fixtures and workholding arrangements.
Load, prove and adjust CNC programs to achieve specified dimensions and tolerances.
Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts,
speeds and feeds for different materials and machining operations.
Perform first-off and in-process dimensional inspections using micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
Monitor component dimensions, surface finish, tool condition and machining performance throughout production.
Make machine, tooling, program and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
Identify and resolve machining, tooling, programming, setup and production issues.
Manufacture components to engineering drawings, specifications and required production timeframes.
Maintain CNC machines, tooling and work areas in a clean, organised and safe condition.
Comply with workplace health and safety, quality and manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications Experience To be successful in this role, applicants should have: AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, or equivalent recognised qualification.
At least 5 years' experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
Experience in CNC programming, machine setup and operation.
Experience with CAD/CAM software is preferred.
Experience with 5-axis CNC milling machines will be highly regarded.
Previous experience with Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl controls on full 5-axis CNC machines would be a strong advantage.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and dimensional tolerances.
Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
Sound knowledge of cutting tools, machining methods, speeds, feeds and workholding techniques.
Ability to independently set up jobs and troubleshoot machining, tooling and programming issues.

Salary of $72,000 – $82,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
