Associate Systems Analyst (APS5 Equivalent) | Federal Government Contract Are you an experienced Systems Analyst looking to contribute to large-scale digital transformation initiatives that impact millions of Australians?
We are seeking an Associate Systems Analyst to join a high-performing federal government technology team delivering innovative solutions and enhancing customer service outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex ICT projects in a collaborative and agile environment while developing your analytical, technical and stakeholder engagement skills.
About the Chance As an Associate Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in translating business requirements into technical solutions, supporting the design and analysis of ICT systems, and contributing to the delivery of business-critical projects.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, testers and project teams to ensure solutions meet business needs while aligning with established architectures, policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities Analyse and evaluate business processes and requirements Support the design and implementation of ICT solutions Develop and maintain functional specifications and solution documentation Assist with system enhancements, changes and continuous improvement initiatives Conduct testing activities including test planning, test execution and review of test coverage Monitor and support business solutions in day-to-day operations Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and support project delivery Undertake quality reviews of specifications and design artefacts Prepare reports,



technical documentation and project correspondence Identify risks and escalate issues where appropriate Support system change management and lifecycle activities Provide guidance and support to team members as required Essential Skills Experience Requirements Definition Management (SFIA Level 3) Experience defining and managing requirements for small to medium-sized initiatives Strong capability in requirements elicitation, documentation and prioritisation Ability to review requirements for accuracy and completeness Experience managing requirement traceability and change requests Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Software Design (SFIA Level 3) Experience designing moderately complex applications or system components Understanding of software design standards, methodologies and best practice Ability to create user and system interface specifications Experience balancing functional and non-functional requirements Ability to participate in design reviews and evaluation of solution options Desirable Experience Feasibility Assessment (SFIA Level 3) User Experience Evaluation (SFIA Level 2) Business case support and options analysis Gathering and analysing user feedback on prototypes and designs Technical Capabilities You will demonstrate the ability to:



Translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences Analyse information and provide evidence-based recommendations Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills Work effectively in agile environments Support innovation and continuous improvement Identify and manage risks appropriately Manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within timeframes Contract Details Initial Term: Up to 12 months Extension Options: Up to an additional 24 months Start Date: October **** Location: Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane Working Arrangement: Hybrid The successful candidate will be required to work onsite for the first six weeks before hybrid working arrangements may be considered, subject to operational requirements.
