This is an opportunity to join our Advance team within Ashurst Perkins Coie.
Duration: 6 months
Arrangement: Full time (hybrid)
Location: Brisbane
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting and managing PEXA settlements end-to-end, including lodgement of documents, verification of settlement figures and coordination with all parties to ensure timely completion
Assisting with Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) searches, registrations and discharges
Supporting the delivery of BAU transactional matters alongside senior team members
Maintaining client relationships through responsive, quality work product
About You
You are an experienced paralegal with a minimum of 3 years' experience, bringing a strong track record working within a law firm or legal services organisation.
Required Experience & Expertise:
PEXA settlements experience - demonstrated hands-on experience using the PEXA platform to manage and complete property settlements, including familiarity with workspace management, financial settlement schedules and lodgement processes
Experience working in a legal support, paralegal, or equivalent capacity within a law firm or legal services environment
Strong understanding of Australian property and real estate transactions
Ability to manage multiple matters concurrently under tight deadlines
High attention to detail and commitment to quality delivery
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
Familiarity with high-volume, process-driven legal work
Prior experience in banking and finance transactional support
Knowledge of broader funds and finance documentation

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision across legal documentation, settlement processes and financial transactions

Excellent communicator with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage workload independently
Reliable and accountable, taking ownership of matters and seeing tasks through to completion
Qualified and trustworthy, exercising discretion when handling confidential client and transaction information
Other requirements:
A current Australian practising certificate is not essential
Right to live and work in Australia
