Optical Superstore is seeking an experienced Optical Dispenser/Manager to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with management responsibilities. As Optical Dispenser/Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional optical services to our customers whilst also overseeing the day-to-day operations of our store.

What you'll be doing
/n
/n
- Dispensing and fitting prescription eyewear, including spectacles and contact lenses, with precision and care
/n
- Conducting frame selections and lens consultations to ensure customers receive optimal vision solutions tailored to their individual needs
/n
- Managing store operations, including stock control,
inventory management and ordering of optical products
/n
- Overseeing staff scheduling, training and performance management to maintain service excellence
/n
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with optical and healthcare regulations
/n
- Providing expert advice on lens options, coatings and frame styles to maximise customer satisfaction
/n
- Ensuring the store environment is clean, well-organized and compliant with health and safety standards
/n
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and repeat business
/n
- Liaising with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive eyecare services
/n/n
What we're looking for
/n
/n
- Recognised qualification or certification in optical dispensing (such as a certificate IV in Optical Dispensing or equivalent)
/n
- Proven experience as an optical dispenser, with a minimum of 3-5 years in the optical retail or clinical setting
/n
- Demonstrated management experience, ideally in a retail or healthcare workplace
/n
- Strong knowledge of lens types, coatings, frame materials and optical prescriptions
/n
- Proficiency in optical dispensing software and point-of-sale systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and staff
/n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
/n
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
/n
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and optical regulations
/n
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and professional conduct
/n
- Preferably, experience with frame styling and lens selection for complex prescriptions
