Are you a Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care? Join Western District Health Service as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), where you’ll work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager to lead clinical care, support your team, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents every day.

Support the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in the day-to-day management of the unit and, in their absence, undertake key leadership responsibilities to ensure the effective management of human and other resources, while maintaining quality care and financial viability.

Clinical Oversight & Care Coordination —
Respond to changes in residents’ clinical conditions, initiate appropriate interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure timely, safe, and effective care delivery.

Consumer, Family & Stakeholder Engagement —
Develop and maintain professional and therapeutic relationships with residents, families, carers, general practitioners, allied health professionals, sessional health providers, and external agencies to support coordinated service provision.

Resource & Financial Management —
Monitor and promote the effective use of resources, working within budgetary parameters and maintaining awareness of funding processes and unit-based business objectives to support financial sustainability.

Quality Improvement & Service Excellence —
Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement by supporting activities and initiatives that enhance service delivery, clinical practice, and resident outcomes.

Risk Management & Safety —
Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability,

supporting processes and activities designed to improve safety, minimise risk, and maintain high standards of care.

Team Collaboration & Professional Contribution —
Participate in meetings, committees, and working groups as required, actively contributing to organisational goals, service development, and the achievement of unit objectives.

What You Bring

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Sound clinical judgement, attention to detail, and accountability in practice
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
