Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the NECTAR team.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:
An exciting prospect exists for an enthusiastic research assistant to join the NECTAR (Northern Clinical Diagnostics and Thrombovascular Research) team at Northern Health.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for overseeing the conduct and direction of high-quality research projects within the foci of NECTAR's strategic research priorities which may include Thrombovascular arm, Biobanking and Omic Sciences. A significant component of this role is to facilitate our research by effective engagement of key stakeholders pertinent to the team's research agenda. The Fellow will carry out team-based research projects which will make impact in their specialisation and be influential in expanding knowledge of their relevant discipline and translational research
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Leadership experience to provide oversight of the breadth of activities undertaken by NECTAR
- Experience and good working knowledge of research enterprise and project conduct including developing research proposals, monitoring research budget, setting up and validating new research techniques, writing up and presenting research work
- Proven ability to work within the standards of care in the defined research projects and protocols, SOPs and practice guidelines of NECTAR, hospital policies & procedures to ensure adherence to and delivery of a high-quality service.
- Mentor and/or supervise junior research staff including PhD candidates and research assistants
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and actively participate as a member of the research team, as well as maintain effective communication
- Able to collaborate and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
