Our Queensland Government client has a 6-month temporary assignment for an AO5 WHS Advisor to commence immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys balancing site-based activities with stakeholder engagement, compliance, advisory and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with senior safety and operational leaders, you will provide workplace health, safety and environmental advice while supporting the implementation and monitoring of safety management systems across a diverse workforce.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting WHS audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
- Providing expert WHS advice to operational, supervisory and management teams.
- Supporting incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
- Assisting with the development and delivery of safety training and awareness initiatives.
- Supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work activities.
- Assisting with emergency planning and response activities.
- Contributing to the development and review of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments and management plans.
- Preparing safety reports and supporting organisational WHS programs.

To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate:

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Experience in WHS within construction, maintenance, trades, infrastructure or a similar industry.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and relevant standards.
- The ability to identify hazards, assess risks and recommend practical control measures.




- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Sound organisational skills and attention to detail.
