Description
Are you a storage expert who can build and scale the go-to-market for one of AWS's highest-growth portfolios across Australia and New Zealand? Do you have the technical depth in cloud storage, data transfer, and migration, combined with business development instincts to drive our largest, most complex migration deals and build the motions that scale wins across the region? Do you love building strategic, data-driven businesses and helping customers get their data foundations ready for the AI era? Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) Data & AI team as a Sr. Business Development Manager for Storage, based in Sydney and focused on data foundations across ANZ.
This role builds and scales the AWS storage go-to-market across ANZ, owning the strategy and execution that helps customers modernise their data foundations to be ready for AI and agentic workloads. Storage is the foundation of every large migration and every AI workload from training data, model artifacts, inference pipelines, and the data lakes that power analytics. Data is the context layer that turns generic AI into personalised, differentiated customer experiences; every AI conversation is a data conversation, and this role sits at the centre of it. You will be across all the top migration deals in ANZ ensuring storage is scoped, sized, and funded from day one, spanning S3, EBS, EFS, FSx, Backup, DataSync, Transfer Family, Snow Family, and Storage Gateway, and the networking and data transfer (DTO) that makes large migrations possible. You are accountable for the growth of the ANZ storage business. You will also be the voice of ANZ back to the service team, carrying customer needs to our storage service teams to help reshape service and roadmap strategy.
Key job responsibilities
- GTM for storage and data foundations across ANZ - strategy, messaging, positioning, and campaigns across all segments
- Be across all the top deals - ensure storage is scoped, sized, and funded from day one; own storage sizing, data transfer planning (DTO), and migration sequencing on the largest, most complex opportunities
- Drive storage pipeline and revenue - activate growth levers including workload placement, data migration, tiering optimisation, and AI-driven consumption
- Build scalable GTM motions - playbooks, ROI models, and partner enablement that multiply impact beyond one-to-one deals
- Drive the "storage as the foundation for AI" narrative
- Be the voice of ANZ to the storage service teams, feeding customer needs and competitive gaps back to product leadership
A day in the life
One morning you're modelling the data transfer economics for a large enterprise migration across Direct Connect and DataSync; midday you're in a CxO briefing positioning S3 as the data lake foundation for an AI initiative and making sure storage is funded in the deal. The afternoon you're building a partner-led storage assessment motion with an SI, reviewing migration pipeline with the ANZ area team, and feeding a feature gap back to the WW Storage service team. You operate across ANZ and every segment, building the strategy and executing it.
