Artistic Swimming NSW
Sydney
Artistic Swimming NSW is seeking a hands-on volunteer Committee Member to join its Board and help drive participation growth, community engagement and sport development across Recent South Wales. Artistic Swimming NSW is the recognised State Sporting Organisation for artistic swimming in NSW and forms part of the National Sporting Organisation led by Artistic Swimming Australia.
This voluntary, unpaid role suits someone with experience in sport development & community engagement who is motivated to help more people discover and participate in artistic swimming. The ideal candidate is comfortable contributing both strategically and practically within a small, volunteer-led organisation.
Key Focus Areas
- Participation Growth - identifying opportunities to expand access to artistic swimming across NSW, including new programs, community partnerships, club support and targeted initiatives for under-represented groups.
- Community Engagement - building connections with schools, councils, aquatic centres, multicultural communities and local organisations to introduce new audiences to the sport.
- Marketing & Promotion - helping increase visibility and awareness of artistic swimming through campaigns, digital content, storytelling and brand development.
- Partnerships & Sponsorship - developing relationships that support participation programs, events, club development and organisational sustainability.
- Practical Delivery - providing hands-on support to projects, events and initiatives, not only strategic advice.
Governance experience or AICD qualifications are welcome but not essential. More important is a collaborative approach, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to helping an Olympic sport grow.
The Role
As a volunteer Committee Member, you will work with the Board to support the strategic direction,
governance and practical delivery of Artistic Swimming NSW, with a strong emphasis on expanding participation.
You will:
- Contribute to the strategic direction of participation growth and sport development across NSW.

- Build relationships with clubs, aquatic centres, schools, councils and community organisations.
- Support marketing, communications and promotional activity that attracts new participants.
- Assist with partnership activation around programs, events and development initiatives.
- Support good governance, integrity, inclusion and member-focused decision-making.
Time commitment includes attendance at Board meetings, preparation between meetings, and hands-on contribution to agreed projects.
About You
You may be a sport development, community engagement, marketing, partnerships or events professional who wants to use your skills to make a meaningful contribution to community sport. You are proactive, practical and relationship-focused, with the confidence to generate ideas and help deliver them.
You bring:
- Experience in sport development, community engagement, partnerships, events or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically while contributing to practical delivery.
- Understanding of volunteer-led sport or not-for-profit environments.
- A collaborative style and commitment to inclusion and positive member experiences.
- A genuine interest in helping grow artistic swimming participation across NSW.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of artistic swimming in NSW, grow an Olympic sport, support clubs and athletes, and play a visible role in expanding participation and community impact.
