HR & Learning Officer

12 month Fixed Term Role

We’re looking for a people focused HR & Learning Officer to join our exceptional team at our corporate Head Office in South Melbourne. This is a 12 month fixed term position that will suit a candidate that enjoys a quick paced, diverse business and possesses experience in the HR generalist space, excellent communication skills and has the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.

What is this role all about?

The HR & Learning Officer will provide support to the Head Office business being the first point of contact for all human resources as well as coordinate and support recruitment for HO roles. The role will also provide administrative support to the learning and development team as well as reporting and compliance activities and contribute to HR projects based at the Head Office.





Core responsibilities include:

- HR

- Participate and contribute to the Hertz Diversity, Community and Wellbeing group including the facilitation of annual activities and new programs

- Support managers in all aspects of the recruitment process managing any key external transactions required and administrative aspects in the process.

- Promote and communicate WHs initiatives and training requirements

- Provide HR administrative support as needed including; compile and coordinate required reporting i.e. Monthly reports, metrics, assist with required correspondence, assist with annual salary administration process, aid with application of company policies and practices, assist employees benefit vendors and process invoices that are relevant to HR budget.

- Prepare and submit WGEA reporting for the business annually.

Learning and Development

- Coordinate training for employees including; onboarding activity, operational and KPI specific training where required.

- Maintain learning records using the Learning Management System of training activities & employee progress in the region to ensure timely completions of compliance and governance requirements.

- Monitor and respond to Learning and Development enquiries through the inbox.





- Update training curriculum and materials to ensure all recent organisational changes and updates are reflected in the materials.

- Perform administrative duties as required by the department, including compiling & distributing relevant reports, invoicing etc.

What do we need from you?

This position will suit a candidate that enjoys a fast paced, diverse business and possesses the following skills and experience:

- Degree qualified in Human Resources, Business or related field. At least 1 year working experience is desirable.

- Experience in an administrative role within a fast-paced business would be advantageous.

- Experienced customer focus, with a pro-active, mature, positive, action-orientated, and ‘can-do’ attitude.

- Skilled ability to critically review existing practices, processes and procedures and recommend continuous improvement to develop and implement best practice HR initiatives.

- Expert communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

- Ability to build solid and effective relationships.
