The Role
As Workshop Manager, you’ll take ownership of the operational performance of our Port Hedland workshop. You will lead a skilled team, ensure resource efficiency, and drive safe, timely and profitable outcomes. Your ability to motivate and guide your team, while also managing client expectations and operational priorities, will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily workshop operations including scheduling, job flow, and labour allocation
- Manage financial performance including turnover, margin, and productivity targets
- Lead, develop and support the team including apprentices and tradespeople
- Maintain and monitor plant, equipment and inventory management systems
- Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, risk assessments and protected work practices
- Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Senior Leadership Team
What You’ll Bring
- Trade qualification (e.g. Fitter, Mechanic or similar)
- Proven leadership experience in a workshop or maintenance workplace
- Strong people management and communication skills
- High attention to detail, with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency
- Competence with systems and tools such as Microsoft Office and Cloud-based asset management platforms
- A commitment to mentoring and building a positive team culture
