The prospect
We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Case Manager to join our Nominal Insurer team as a Workers with Highest Needs (WWHN) Case Manager.
In this highly rewarding role, you'll manage a portfolio of long-term and complex claims involving workers with significant physical, psychological, and psychosocial needs. You'll play a critical role in supporting injured workers throughout their recovery journey, coordinating treatment and support services, and working collaboratively with employers, health providers, legal representatives, and other stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Your new role
- Manage a portfolio of complex Workers with Highest Needs (WWHN) claims, delivering tailored support and sustainable outcomes for injured workers.
- Proactively coordinate treatment, rehabilitation, recovery, and return to work strategies in line with workers' compensation legislation and scheme requirements.
- Build trusted relationships with injured workers, employers, treating practitioners,
rehabilitation providers, legal representatives, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide advocacy and support for workers with significant physical, psychological, or psychosocial barriers, ensuring they receive appropriate support and services.
- Make informed decisions on complex claim matters while maintaining accurate, compliant documentation and meeting regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement, quality outcomes, and exceptional customer experiences.
About you
- Demonstrated experience managing complex workers' compensation claims, with a strong understanding of workers' compensation legislation and return to work principles.
- Experience managing long-term, litigated, psychological injury, catastrophic injury, or other high-complexity claims is highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to navigate challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Resilience, sound judgement, and a solutions-focused mindset when supporting vulnerable workers through complex claim journeys.
- Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills and the ability to manage competing demands while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
