TAFE QLD GOLD COAST - ADMINISTRATION OFFICER, SMS SUPPORT UNIT
Your Opportunity
As the Administration Officer - SMS Support Unit, you will support the smooth operation of TAFE Queensland’s Student Management System by delivering high quality administrative and system support to internal teams. The role focuses on staff enrolments, credit transfers, bulk processing, SMS requests and maintaining accurate student records, while providing back up support across key operational functions.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time prospect, to 22/12/2028 unless otherwise determined and is based primarily at Southport, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to effective and efficient administrative systems, practices and processes to ensure continuity of a quality service to all clients.
- Develop strategies and participate in audits to ensure quality of client management functions such as student records.
- Provide a range of administrative services utilising various software packages including word processing, spread sheeting, Access databases, Federal Government databases, timetabling software, student administration systems and learning management systems.
- Carry out tasks of a financial nature including the investigation of student accounts
- Actively participate in administrative reviews and work practice improvements.
- Provide supervision and direction to administrative staff within the work area.
- Undertake research and development on matters relating to business functions.
- Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.
- Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
1. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritise the delivery of an effective administrative service in an environment of strict and competing deadlines with a focus on quality client service.
2. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with a broad range of clients and work both independently and within a team.
3. Displays the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
4. Well-developed knowledge of and skill in the utilisation of a variety of software packages and of computerised management information systems.
5. Basic understanding of human resource management issues including occupational health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination as applied in a working environment.
Highly Desirable Requirements
- Experience in providing first level support to internal and external clients
- High level knowledge and experience in Student Management Systems and Learning Management Systems functions and processes
- Experience in the delivery of training and coaching in ICT systems
