Beanies Family Support

Huonville

Beanies Family Support is looking for a Speech Pathologist to join our growing team in the Huon Valley and work alongside our Senior Speech Pathologist and multidisciplinary team.

Our strong preference is for someone who can work regularly in person from our Huonville clinic, however, we are open to Telehealth remote options.

The role does not need to be rigid. We can shape the hours around the right person, with casual, part-time or full-time options and a mix of clinic, school, community and Telehealth work.

A rare clinical opportunity

Our Senior Speech Pathologist brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge and experience to Beanies.

For an experienced Speech Pathologist, this is an opportunity to work alongside a senior clinical peer, share ideas and help shape the future of our Speech Pathology service.

For a new graduate or early-career clinician, it is an opportunity to learn within a service where experienced support is practical, accessible and connected to the real work not simply promised in an induction pack.

You will also be surrounded by a local team of Allied Health Assistants, Allied Health professionals, counsellors, support workers, administrators and directors.

At Beanies, support is not just an email address. It is regular clinical collaboration with our Senior Speech Pathologist, AHAs you know by name, administrators down the hall and directors who remain involved in the day-to-day service.

What the role could look like

In this role, you will:

- Provide engaging, evidence-informed Speech Pathology assessment and therapy.

- Work with participants across a range of ages, with a strong focus on children, young people and families.

- Deliver face-to-face sessions from our Huonville clinic.

- Support participants in schools, homes and community settings where appropriate.

- Provide some Telehealth services where they suit the participant and clinician.

- Work directly with our Senior Speech Pathologist on clinical cases,

service development and shared problem-solving.

- Develop practical therapy strategies that families can carry into everyday life.

- Create clear session plans for Allied Health Assistants to implement between clinician sessions.

- Guide, teach and provide feedback to AHAs so therapy is delivered safely and consistently.

- Complete assessments, progress notes, reports and therapy planning.

- Communicate with families, educators and members of a participant’s wider support team.

- Help us continue building a Speech Pathology service that works for regional families.

What we are looking for

You will need:

- A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology.

- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist.

- Current Australian working rights.

- The ability to complete the relevant employment and worker-screening requirements.

- Strong clinical communication and written documentation skills.

- The ability to turn clinical thinking into practical, understandable strategies.

- A collaborative approach to working with families, AHAs and other professionals.

- Valuable organisation and time management.

- Warmth, sound judgement and a genuine interest in the people behind the referral.

Experience supporting children, young people or people with disability would be highly regarded, but it is not essential.

New graduates are very welcome to apply.

We are equally interested in experienced clinicians who want the freedom to contribute, shape a service and work within a smaller, human-sized organisation.

What you will receive

- Regular opportunities to work and collaborate with our Senior Speech Pathologist.

- Flexible casual, part-time or full-time working arrangements.

- A primarily in-person role, with hybrid flexibility where it makes sense.

- Support from an established Allied Health Assistant team.

- Local administration support with people who understand the service and families.

- A multidisciplinary team around you.

- The opportunity to shape your caseload around your experience and interests.

- Space to contribute ideas and help develop the Speech Pathology service.

- Support with Beanies systems, processes and ways of working.

- Meaningful work within a regional community that genuinely needs access to services.

- A workplace where people take the work seriously without taking themselves too seriously.

About Beanies Family Support

Beanies Family Support began because we saw a gap between families in our community and the support they deserved.

So, we set out to build a bridge.

Two years later, that bridge leads to our front door.

We are not trying to copy a large corporate service and squeeze it into a regional town. We are building something that belongs here—something that understands the community, works around real family life and helps guide families toward a better tomorrow.

How to apply

Please send us your CV and a short note introducing yourself.

There is no need to write a long, formal cover letter. We would simply love to know:

- What kind of Speech Pathology work you most enjoy.

- What working arrangement would suit you, including your preferred days or hours.

- Whether you are available for regular in-person work in Huonville.

- What made you stop and consider Beanies.

And we also want to meet the person behind the resume, feel free to tell us what you are currently watching, reading, making, growing or doing with your days off.

We would love to meet you.
