We are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Senior Manager to lead Pacific Energy's financial governance and risk management activities across pre-FID project development and commercial opportunity assessments.
Reporting to the General Manager Treasury & Commercial Finance, this role partners closely with the Chief Commercial and Legal Officer to provide high-quality financial analysis and investment evaluations that support informed decision-making and drive value creation.
Key responsibilities
Commercial Finance & Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary finance business partner to the CCLO and GM, Commercial Finance.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support tendering, pricing, and investment decisions.
- Lead governance and risk management processes for pre-FID project assessments and approvals.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and maintain the project model library to ensure accuracy, consistency, and best practice.
- Manage counterparty credit risk assessments and provide regular Board updates on financial exposures.
Financial Modelling & Investment Evaluation
- Lead the financial modelling of business opportunities, acquisitions, and funding proposals.
- Develop and maintain pricing models and assumptions that underpin project bids and investment cases.
- Analyse financial risk and return profiles to support investment recommendations and Board submissions.
- Partner with Treasury and Group Finance to align funding and capital structures with project requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and governance frameworks within the Commercial Finance function.

Key experience, qualifications and skills for this role include:
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- CA/CPA/CFA qualification, with experience in financial modelling, analysis, and investment evaluation within capital-intensive industries.
- Proven ability to evaluate complex commercial structures and identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at an executive level.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
