What you’ll do
As Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll provide trusted, practical legal advice across AnglicareSA’s service delivery functions, including disability, aged care, housing and community services, within complex regulatory environments. You will help leaders make informed decisions while protecting AnglicareSA’s interests and supporting its purpose of changing lives.
Working with a high degree of autonomy, you’ll have the opportunity to influence important matters across various areas including commercial, employment, industrial relations, property, workers compensation and intellectual property. You’ll work closely with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation, balancing legal risk with practical outcomes and contributing your expertise to projects, investigations, negotiations and disputes. You’ll also play an key role in building legal capability across the organisation through clear advice, education and mentoring.
You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:
● Providing high-quality legal advice on complex employment and industrial relations matters, including enterprise bargaining, workforce changes, investigations and disputes.
● Leading legal projects, property matters, investigations and disputes with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying risks and recommending practical solutions.
● Monitoring legislative changes and translating legal developments into clear briefings, advice, education and training for leaders and employees.
● Mentoring members of the Legal Services team, contributing to capability development and knowledge sharing across the team.
● Partner with senior leaders and executives to provide commercially focused advice on complex and sensitive matters.
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you will have:
● Tertiary qualification in Law, admission to the Supreme Court of South Australia and a current unrestricted SA Practising Certificate, or the ability to obtain one upon commencement.
● 6+ years post-admission experience, preferably within an in-house legal team, major NFP, government environment or private practice advising commercial and employment law clients.
● Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse legal practice and independently manage complex matters and competing priorities.
● Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to a range of stakeholders.
● Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance legal, operational and reputational risk.
We would also love you to have:
- Experience across commercial, property and/or workers compensation law, NDIS and disability services, aged care or other regulated human services environments.
- Experience managing litigation, disputes and representation before courts and tribunals, including the Fair
Work Commission.
● Demonstrated experience managing complex employment and/or industrial relations matters with limited supervision.
● Experience leading significant negotiations, investigations, disputes or organisational projects involving multiple stakeholders.

● Experience conducting employment investigations and advising on procedural fairness and outcomes.
● Knowledge of intellectual property and trademarks
● Experience advising on organisational risk, compliance and regulatory frameworks, including the NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding and reporting incident obligations.
