Commercial Joinery Site Supervisor

Elm Commercial Joinery is a Melbourne-based commercial joinery manufacturer operating from our modern facility in Officer South.

We're looking for an experienced Commercial Joinery Site Supervisor to take ownership of the site side of our projects — from site measures and pre-production checks through installation, defects and final handover.

This is a full-time, hands-on role based at our Officer South facility. You will report to our factory/office each working day and travel to commercial project sites across Melbourne as required, predominantly within the CBD and metropolitan areas.

Initially, you'll be actively installing joinery as well as coordinating our site works. As our installation team grows, the role will progressively move towards leading installers and supervising multiple projects.

You'll be Elm's go-to person on site, connecting our clients and builders with our drafting, production and installation teams.

The Role

- Carry out accurate site measures, set-outs and pre-production checks

- Review approved shop drawings against actual site conditions before manufacture

- Carry out hands-on installation of commercial joinery

- Install, level, adjust and finish joinery to a high standard

- Attend site meetings and coordinate directly with builders, Site Managers and Project Managers

- Be the key point of contact for client and builder questions relating to our joinery works

- Identify site issues early and communicate accurate information back to drafting and production

- Coordinate daily with our drafting and production teams at Officer South

- Confirm site readiness before manufacture, delivery and installation

- Coordinate deliveries,



access and installation sequencing

- Lead and coordinate installers and subcontract installation teams as the business grows

- Monitor installation quality, progress and programme requirements

- Manage defects, rectification works and outstanding items through to completion

- Take ownership of Elm's joinery package on site through to final handover

Travel & Site Work

Regular travel between our Officer South facility and commercial project sites across Melbourne is part of this position.

Authorised work-related travel between our facility and project sites will be covered by Elm. A current driver's licence is required.

About You

We're looking for someone with genuine commercial joinery experience who is technically strong, practical on site and confident representing Elm with our clients.

You'll ideally have:

- Minimum 7 years' cabinetmaking/joinery experience

- At least 3 years' commercial joinery installation/site experience

- Excellent hands-on commercial joinery installation skills

- Cabinetmaking trade qualification or equivalent practical experience

- Strong ability to read architectural and detailed joinery shop drawings

- Excellent site measuring and set-out skills

- Strong understanding of joinery construction, hardware, materials and finishes





- Experience dealing directly with builders and commercial construction teams

- Confidence answering technical joinery questions and resolving practical site issues

- Ability to coordinate installers, deliveries and multiple work areas

- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail

- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and take ownership

- Current driver's licence and unrestricted Australian working rights

Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Joinery Site Supervisor or Installation Supervisor will be highly regarded.

$100,000–$110,000 + super, depending on experience and capability
