About Nikinpa Aboriginal Children's Services
Nikinpa Aboriginal Children’s Service is operated by Muloobinba Aboriginal Corporation, a not for profit Aboriginal organization committed to providing our community with culturally safe high-quality education and care. We believe this is facilitated through strong trusting relationships within our community.
Nikinpa is a well-established service deeply connected to our local community providing a culturally safe place for children, families, staff, Elders and community to connect and learn from one another, strengthening Aboriginal identity within our community. Nikinpa is more than an early learning service, we bring together a range of early childhood, health and family support services to improve the education, health and wellbeing of the children in our care.
We have recently received our second consecutive exceeding rating.
About the Role
Full Time- 38 hours per week
6 Month fixed term contract (Maternity Relief )

Immediate start
We are looking for a strong and passionate Nominated Supervisor/Director to guide the Nikinpa team. Someone who can confidently lead, inspire educators, partner with families and ensure children are guided through a safe and nurturing environment to thrive. A leader who believes leadership is not about control, but about building a positive team culture and the capacity of others.
What you will do:
- Lead, mentor and support a dedicated team of room leaders and educators to thrive and hold space for creative and innovative practice.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with the National Quality Standards and National Regulations including staffing, rosters and quality curriculum
- Foster inclusive, respectful relationships with the team, children, families and the community
- Facilitate the provision o f a child safe service with paramountcy at its core of all decisions
- Guide curriculum decisions that promote belonging and wellbeing
- Champion continuous improvement by working with quality area leaders, through reflective practice to ensure we are always improving
- Be committed t to Muloobinba's values and Nikinpa’s philosophy
About you
The be best suited to this role you will:
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (preferred but not essential)
- Fulfil the responsibilities as Nominated Supervisor (as per ACECQA)
- Hold a minimum Diploma in Children’s Services with at least 3 years leadership experience OR Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved)
- Have experience as a Director or Nominated Supervisor
- Have excellent knowledge of the National Quality Standards, National Law and Early Childhood best practice
- Have strong leadership experience, communication and organisational skills

Position requirements:
- An up to date National Police Check
- Valid and verified NSW Working with Children Check
- Geccko National Child Safety Training (at least Foundation training)
- Strong Knowledge of relevant legislative policies, standards and requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training
- Diploma in Chidrens Services or Bachelor Of Early Childhood Education
- Experience in a leadership role, Director or nominated Supervisor

Remuneration
Remuneration is in accordance with the Educations Services ( Teachers) or Childrens Services Award relevant to Qualifications and experience.
